Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

November 6, 2018 by HecticDeveloper

I’ve made mashed potatoes many, many ways. For large holiday gatherings I really like to use this recipe. It gives me the opportunity to time-shift this part of the meal to a time when I’m not so busy. The use of the crock pot also allows me to free up space on the cooktop, and it dispenses with the steam from the boiling water. Pretty much this is a win-win recipe for me.

Note that you can substitute other types of potatoes for the Yukon Gold. When you get right down to it, you’re going to be mashing them anyway, so pretty much any variety of potato will work.

Also, when it comes to the step about washing the potatoes, don’t forget about my trick of washing them in the dishwasher!
