Salisbury Steak

Salisbury Steak

Course: Main Dish
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Chili Sauce
  • 3/4 cup Seasoned Breadcrumbs
  • 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 28 ounces Beef Broth
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 8 ounces Mushroom Pieces

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 200°F
  • In mixing bowl, mix ground beef, eggs, chili sauce, and breadcrumbs
  • Divide mixture into 8 portions
  • Form portions into patties
  • Heat oil in skillet on medium heat
  • Brown patties in preheated skillet for 5 minutes per side
  • Place patties on baking sheet
  • Put baking sheet into preheated oven
  • Keep patties warm in the oven
  • Add beef broth and cornstarch to skillet
  • Add water and stir the mixture until the cornstarch is dissolved
  • Set heat on high and cook until the mixture thickens, stirring frequently
  • Stir in mushrooms
  • Spoon gravy over patties
  • Serve

  • Large Skillet
  • Baking Sheet
  • Can Opener
