Black Friday Cocoa Mix

November 12, 2018 by Jeff Page

Despite the fact that I’m not a fan of Black Friday, most of the Hectic Clan love it. Here in Kansas it’s often cold…so leaving the house in the wee hours of the morning is a chilly adventure. Because I’m a great father and husband, I’ve developed a special cocoa mix so that my little darlings won’t be so cold. With this in hand I don’t feel nearly as guilty staying snug in my nice warm bed as they battle the crowds!

Print Recipe

Black Friday Cocoa Mix

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 3 cups Powdered Nonfat Dry Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Nutmeg

Instructions

  • Add the sugar, cocoa, powdered milk, cornstarch, and nutmeg to a mixing bowl
  • Stir the mixture until everything is completely blended

To Serve

  • Put 3 tablespoons of the powder into a large mug
  • Add 10 ounces of warm milk to the mug. Stir until everything is thoroughly mixed

To Store

  • Place the remaining powder into an airtight zippered storage bag. Place the bag in the freezer and store for up to a year!

Notes

NOTE: I also like to add ground cinnamon and dried mint to my hot cocoa...but enough of the Hectic Clan don't like it that they begged me to only put it here in the note rather than as optional ingredients above. See...I told you I was a great father!
