American Flag Pizza

We’ve always had a traditional Flag Cake for dessert for our patriotic holidays here at Hectic Manor. I figured it was time to do the same thing with the entree, so I came up with this American Flag Pizza.

With just six ingredients it doesn’t get a whole lot easier than this!

American Flag Pizza

Cuisine: Italian

Ingredients

  • 1 Prepared Pizza Curst
  • 6 ounces Pepperoni
  • 6 ounces Sliced Mozzarella Cheese
  • 2 ounces Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • 4 ounces Spaghetti Sauce
  • 2 ounces Sliced Black Olives

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 450F
  • Put the prepared pizza crust onto a pan for easier handling in the oven
  • Spread the spaghetti sauce evenly over the pizza crust
  • Spread the shredded mozzarella cheese into a small area in the upper right part of the pizza. This will be the background base for the "stars"
  • Arrange the sliced olives on top of the shredded mozzarella to create the field of stars
  • Slice the mozzarella cheese into thin 6 thin strips per slice. To make this easier and ensure uniform strips, stack the slices of cheese prior to cutting
  • Arrange the sliced cheese into the strips across the pizza, overlapping the cheese slightly along the stripe
  • Cut the pepperoni in half and carefully arrange the pieces between the mozzarella stripes
  • Put the pizza into the oven and bake for 8 minutes
  • Check the pizza. If it's not done, bake for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Remove the pizza from the oven and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Slice the pizza and serve.
